Cameron turns 5

To say that Cameron loves Harry Potter wouldn't even come close. Natalie and Ella have been reading the series so they can watch the movies (at least the PG ones) and although Cameron is too young to read the books he has really gotten into the movies. So when it came time to plan his party he was very excited about it being a Harry Potter. He loved to find ideas for things to do, talk about decorations and look for possible gift ideas. It was really fun to plan and prep for this party. We made scroll invitations on parchment written in Harry Potter font and lingo. He would ask repetendly to see the invitation and was so excited to hand them out to his friends.

The party was set before his actual birthday but there was one present he needed to open up early. Once he opened his Harry Potter costume he could hardly wait to put it on. Then out to take some pictures in front of the brick wall entrance to platform 9 3/4.

We started the party with Harry Potter bingo. Since most of the kids wern't as proficient in all things Harry Potter the cards were pictures of the characters and with them markers being Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, I think everyone was able to enjoy it. After that we had a potions class. They first combined Phinox tears, Oger Boogers and exploding powder for an exploding potion. Next we made the good luck potion that we put into little vials they could wear and save until they needed some extra luck.

Next on to presents. Cameron got some really fun stuff from his friends. Lots of Harry Potter and Lego stuff. He was so excited.

Then we had our Hogwarts Express birthday cake. 

Finally the kids each decorated their goody bags and were able to take home a wand, house ring, chocolate frogs, golden snitches and Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans. Cameron and all of his friends had a great time and he is already talking about his next Harry Potter party. 

 

 

Then for Cameron's actual birthday we had a nice family dinner, cupcakes followed by a few more gifts. His very own water gun, another Harry Potter Lego set, a Harry Potter Lego book and a hot dog cutter from Grandma and Grandpa (which was a huge hit!)            

We sure do love this little guy. He is such a great, sweet brother and son. He is thoughtful and considerate. Cameron has really grown up this year and loves:

and is really looking forward to Kindergarten.
