Ella was a relatively easy going 2 year old. She had her moments, but I don't think I got any extra wrinkles from it. I figured it was my reward for the first go around. At her three year old check up the doctor said "Three is another challenging age" I thought to myself "This is Ella, myeasy going child, no problem" Today those words are slapping me in the face. Don't get me wrong Ella can still be the sweetest kid, but she can also be a fireball. I have begun to think of her as Jeckle and Hyde. Just today she has thrown 2 types of cereal on the floor, cut her hair and her sisters, screamed so many times I have lost count, quietly put a puzzle together and then put it away when she was done, told me she didn't want to argue and gave me a kiss, a hug and an anaconda squeeze (see Nacho Libre). She is currently in her room (where she has been for the last hour and a half) because she needs to take a nap. We do this everyday at this time. I put her in bed and a few minutes later she comes out of her room. When I go up to check on her she says "Nothing" before I can even ask her what she is doing. The nothing that she is referring to usually includes, but is not limited to, playing with the phone in my room, changing her clothes a few dozen times, dumping the shampoo out into the tub, seeing is she can fill the sink up with the foam soap, putting on my make-up and anything else she can think of besides take a nap. At this point I would prefer the child be done with naps, but then 4:00 rolls around and we have lots of screaming, crying, falling on the floor because she is so tired. All of this makes me think I am glad blogging didn't exists when I was 3 so my mom could document all my sweet activities for all to read.
